Install companion NPC support

Modern Companions 4.65 adds human companions to the live family server at 192.168.2.149:25565. Schema Builder remains 0.4.0, with Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1.256 and Java 21. Joining still requires the home LAN.

Download companion setup ZIP ยท ZIP checksum

  1. Use your existing live Prism instance, or import the normal Schema Builder 0.4.0 profile first.
  2. Close Minecraft, Prism and all Java applications. Extract the companion setup ZIP.
  3. Open PowerShell in the extracted folder. Replace the sample path below with your Prism instance folder containing mmc-pack.json, then run the command.
  4. After successful installation, run your usual Update & Play-Live.cmd. The usual updater updates Schema Builder only; this companion install is required once before playing on a companion-enabled server.
powershell.exe -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File .\Install-Companions-4.65.ps1 -InstanceDirectory "C:\Prism\instances\Schema Builder" -Channel live

The helper downloads the unmodified author's mod directly from GitHub and checks its SHA-256. Internet access is needed for first install; repeating a successful install skips the download. Settings, saves, accounts and unrelated mods are preserved. Replaced companion JARs are backed up inside the instance's companions-backups folder.

Right-click an unrecruited companion with an empty hand to see what items they want. Give the requested items to recruit them, then right-click for controls such as following, patrolling or guarding. Experimental jobs may be hidden by default. Use features enabled by the server owner. No cloud AI account is required.

Use -Channel beta only if Dad enables companions on the authenticated beta server too. Keep separate profiles for live and beta. This download is for Prism profiles; it does not change offline development kits.
